About Midlands Shopfronts

Midlands Shopfronts covers shopfronts, roller shutters and commercial glazing across twelve Midlands counties, from the Black Country out to Lincolnshire.

The model is deliberately simple. You tell us the address and what you think you need. A surveyor comes out, measures the opening properly and checks what the structure will take. You get one fixed figure in writing, valid for thirty days. Nothing is ordered until you say so.

We work on trading premises, so installation is booked around trading — overnight or on a closed day where a unit cannot afford to lose one.

How enquiries are handled

Enquiries submitted here are passed to vetted installers in your area. Lead Mason manages the enquiry, arranges the survey and matches the work to an installer who covers your area and fits that product regularly. You can reach Lead Mason directly at leadmason.co.uk or info@leadmason.co.uk.

Common questions

What colours can I have?

Any RAL colour on aluminium and steel. Anthracite grey (RAL 7016) and black (RAL 9005) are the most common on high-street units, but the powder coater will match whatever your brand standard specifies.

Can you match the units either side of me?

On a parade where the landlord requires a consistent frontage, we work from the same section profiles and colour reference so the new unit reads as part of the row.

Do I need planning permission?

For a like-for-like replacement, usually not. You will need consent for a listed building, in a conservation area, or where you change the appearance of the frontage or add illuminated signage. We can tell you which applies at survey, though the application itself is between you and the council.

Can you work outside trading hours?

Yes. Overnight and closed-day installation is normal for units that cannot lose a trading day, and the premises are left secure at every stage of the work.

Do you replace just the glass?

Yes. Shopfront glass must be toughened or laminated and kitemarked in a critical location, so panes are ordered to the surveyed size — which means a same-day swap is rarely possible on anything large. Boarding secures the opening in the meantime.
